How is Waka installed?
Waka is a cord pendant with an adjustable cord of about 120 cm (47 in). It needs ceiling mounting and an electrical connection, so we recommend a licensed electrician.
How fast is delivery?
The Dome with black canopy is in stock in our US warehouse: it ships in 1-2 business days and arrives in 2 to 5 business days, with tracking. Other styles ship in 1-2 business days and arrive in 3 to 9 business days.
What kind of light does Waka create?
The hand-woven bamboo shade softens the bulb into a warm, diffused glow and casts gentle woven patterns on the walls. It is ideal for ambient, evening light.
Which style should I choose?
For a dining table, the Dome, Wave or Wide Brim give the widest spread of light. The Lantern, Tall Oval and Cone are slimmer and suit kitchen islands, bedsides or groups of two or three. The Nest adds a looser, more textured look.
What is Waka made of?
Every style is hand-woven from natural bamboo, except the Nest, which is woven rattan. Because each shade is made by hand, small variations in weave and tone are natural.
Is a bulb included?
No. Waka takes a standard E27 bulb. A warm LED around 2700-3000K looks best through the weave.
Warm white or cool white: which should I pick?
Warm white (around 3000K) gives a soft, golden glow that suits living rooms, bedrooms and dining areas. Cool white (around 6000K) is crisper and brighter, better for kitchens, offices and bathrooms. If you are unsure, warm white is the cozier choice for most Japandi spaces.
