The Message That Started a Two-Year Search for the Right Bedding

In 2022 a customer wrote to us describing exactly what she was looking for. We didn't have it. Three years later, we finally do.

The message came through the contact form in the summer of 2022. She had ordered two tea sets and a canister from us, and she was writing to ask if we'd ever consider doing bedding. The description was specific: stonewashed linen, no prints, something that arrived already broken in and got better from there. Something that looked good at 7am with the duvet half-pushed back and the light coming through.

Then, at the end: "I keep looking for something that feels like your tea sets do. I haven't found it yet."

We replied to say we'd look into it. We meant it. But we also knew it wasn't going to be quick. Finding something that matched that description, that passed the same test as the tea sets, wasn't a weekend job.

Two Years of No

We spent the next two years testing bedding. A lot of it. Most was decent, good enough to sell, not good enough for credō. The problem wasn't finding linen. It was finding linen that arrived soft rather than stiff, had real natural texture, and held up after repeated washing rather than softening once and then going flat.

The test we apply to everything is simple: would we use this ourselves and genuinely prefer it to what we already have? With bedding that meant sleeping in it, washing it, sleeping in it again. Repeating that for four months before making a decision.

In late 2024 we found a 50/50 cotton-linen blend from a supplier we'd been talking to for over a year. Stonewashed, naturally textured, softer on the first night than most linen is after ten washes. We tested it for four months. It passed every time. The collection launched in March 2025.

What We Carry

Duvet covers, fitted sheets, and pillowcases in four colorways: warm white, natural linen, soft grey, and warm clay. Available as full sets or individual pieces. No prints. No patterns. The texture is the design, and it's enough.

It is, to the best of our ability, exactly what that customer described in her 2022 message. We hope she found us again.

The linen bedding collection is in the store now. It took a while to find. We think it was worth it.
